Ammos Hotel What a find !!

We have just returned from 2 fabulous weeks holiday at one of the best small hotels we have visited around the world.

We have children aged 17 and 4 years but the pool and the beach served everyones requirements, we have visited chania in the past, loved the restaurants around the harbour but the peace and tranquil surroundings of the Ammos terrace in the evening coupled with the superb attentive service from genuinely caring and professional staff helped make this one of the most relaxing, pleasurable and hassle free holidays we have had.

It also helps when the food is superb too !

Nikos, Nectarina and the rest of the Ammos team should be complimented on their ability to make you feel welcolme in a very relaxed environment.

We will be returning (Sorry Nikos) but it may be soon !

Our initial concerns relating to our 17 year old becoming bored with a beachy/ pooly holiday were quickly dispelled and she more than anyone was sad when our holiday in Ammos Paradise was over.

Thanks Nikos and the Ammos team for making it work for us !

      A Paradise of Sounds

My wife asked for a retreat near the ocean, where we could wake up and hear the waves. At the Ammos Hotel we found that--and so much more. The simple elegant decor, the BEAUTIFUL intimate beach, with soft sand, and the friendliness of the staff, and especially its owner, Nikos Tsepetis. This is a hotel that I would return to again and again, both as a couple, and as a family of five. The quiet informal beach setting and the hotel's close proximity to perhaps the most beautiful city of Crete (Chania) make it an ideal choice.

But for me it was the moment of awakening. I could not believe my ears!

I heard the sound of the ocean, the wind offshore, the chorus of crickets....

it was truly paradise. Soothing. Calming.

I could not have imagined a better beach vacation!

      Ammos for relaxing and recovering

My husbond and I have just had a wonderful relaxing and recovering week on Hotel Ammos.

The atmosphere is so wonderful and easy. The whole staf do their best to make you comfortable, and they succeed fully.

The rooms have everything you need and is very tasteful decorated.

You get the best service no matter if you are laying by the pool, at the beach or are sitting in the restaurant.

The restaurant has a big selection of traditional greek food, which is made so tasteful so you don't feel for going anywhereelse.

All in all you have the basis at this nice hotel to have a wonderful holiday.

It's a hotel you will always remember and come back to!

Ammos Hotel - No Other Place Like it - You have to go!!!

I recently visited Ammos Hotel celebrating my two-year anniversary with my husband. We wanted to go to Crete but had never been there. We were looking for a hotel that was away from all the noise but yet close enough to the center where we could go for a couple of hours and come back and relax.

We stayed at Ammos hotel for 10 days the beginning of June. My fellow travelers, you must come to Ammos Hotel. I do not know where to begin. The hotel is very well put together, and is not commercial at all. You really get a sense that you are part of the family there. You actually feel like you are a guest in someone's villa. Everything is spread out and you feel comfortable walking around the hotel. The room entrances are outside so you really feel like you are walking into your own home rather than walking into a "hotel room". The rooms are very comfortable offering air conditioning and heating a kitchenette and a sitting area. Did I mention that the bathroom is a full bathroom and it is BIG? Yes a full bathtub and room to walk around in as well. The view is amazing. From what I understood, every room has a balcony. We were on the second floor facing the ocean. It was breathtaking. Right below us was the pool, which they kept immaculate. The beach is down the stairs from where the pool's literally in the backyard. They have sun chairs on the beach so you don't have to lie in the sand and you can have lunch or drinks under the umbrellas or while sunbathing. Did I mention how clean this hotel is? The grounds and our room were spotless. I am allergic to dust, and I was fine.

The staff is exquisite. I can't tell you how much I travel for work and personal but I can tell you one thing, I give credit where credit is due. The staff at Ammos Hotel went above and beyond my expectations. Where do I start? I'm telling you I felt like I was staying with family. Between guests checking in and out or the restaurant being full of customers, the staff always found time to say hello and ask us if we needed anything, and they truly meant it.

The food is out of this world. We had better food at the hotel restaurant than we did in the old port of Chania. I must also tell you about the breakfast buffet that is served every morning. They serve this banana cake to die for and let me not forget their cheese pies, coffee, tea, frappe (Greek Ice Coffee) must ask for it, breads jams, butters. I totally recommend all the food that the restaurant has, I this we must have tried practically every dish. I recommend the zucchini meatballs, mousaka, chicken in a cream sauce and any fish that is brought in house; in general all the dishes are very tasty.

The hotel is not even a 10-minute cab ride to the center of Chania or a bus ride. The hotel was able to assist us with any questions we had about our excursions. This hotel has it together everyone; they are a great group and offer hospitality like no other place I have been to. Many thanks to the staff at Ammos Hotel and for making our anniversary truly special.

My husband and I have nothing but great things to say about Ammos Hotel and Chania.

Efharisto Poli - Thank you very much :)

      A truly amazing experience

THe first think that strucked me the minute i enter the hotel was of how clean, tidy, styliss and cossy it is!

Was visiting over greek Easter and i was looking forward to relax my spirit away! Situated right on the beach, with the most amazing swimming pool as a second alternative, it trully calmed and rejuvinated me.

The service is impecable, the stuff always smile at you, ready to assist you at any time, and Nikos the Hotel owner is by far one of the most profeshional, helpful, kind person i have came accross.

If you are looking to fast it is definetely not the write place to go, as the food that the taverna serves it is so delicious!Best plate marathopites, dakos, kalitsounakia and stuffed vineleaves!

I'm going back in July with my boyfriend to enjoy more of this splendid paradise!!!

      Good value for money

i just came back from a one week holidays in Crete together with my girlfriend. We stayed at Hotel Ammos which i actually found on tripadvisor. The first thing that impresses u when u arrive at Ammos is the politeness of the people. There was a girl at the reception, Nektaria who was really very polite. She stayed with us and she gave us many information about where to go,excursions etc. Then we went to the room. The rooms are very clean, big , they have veranda with amazing views of the ocean. They r simple but they have small stylish details and they r very colourfull. The beach is right in front and it s amazing. I like it in particular because of the white sand. we walked and nearby there is a very beautifull small forest. We also loved a lot the pool, very stylish with a magnificent mosaic of stones, maybe one of the best looking pools i've seen in my life. We didn't eat at the restaurant until the last night but we realised that we were stupid because the food was excellent, maybe better from all the other restaurants and not expencive at all. The day we left the manager, a tall guy called Nikos ( i think he also owns the hotel) gave us a bottle with virgin olive oil as a present. I liked a lot Hotel Ammos, i think that u get a very good value for money, the people were really nice and Crete is an island that i would very gladly return one day, especially if i could get again a room at Ammos

      I have found my oasis.

I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was when I booked my trip. I had trouble traveling in from Santorini on September 24, 2004 and called the hotel and told them that I wouldnt be arriving til probably after midnight. A staff member was waiting for me and my best friend to arrive, took our bags put them into our room and wished us a good night. On the makeup table, were chocolates and some of Crete's famous tsikoudia/raki with shot glasses from the owner. The room was spotless. Very spacious and not cluttered. The room had AC and heat. I love the fact that we had a small kitchen with a refrigerator. Our balcony led out onto the pool grounds, just gorgeous. The next morning I awoke to see my oasis. Pool in front of my room and the beautiful beach not more than 10 meters from my balcony door. The restaurant run by Manolis has amazing food. We were never dissapointed by any of the dishes. Nikos, the owner and his staff are wonderful and patient people. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The hotel was very busy yet they managed to make us feel like we were the only ones there. We stayed 5 nights. I loved it so much that a week later I was there again by myself for another three nights. The rates are very very reasonable.

This hotel is near everything. The port of Chania is a 5 euro cab ride or a short public bus ride.

If you decide to stay at this hotel, you will not be dissapointed.

I cant thank them enough, I had probably my best vacation at Ammos Hotel. See you in September again!!! :) Filakia Polla sta paidia tou Ammos Hotel!!!! Niko, Nektaria, Manoli, Gianni, Menti and Eddie kai stis kopelies pou katharizane ta domatia, Hilia Efharisto!!!!

      My favorite hotel

i went to Hotel Ammos last june and i had the best holidays of my life. Eventhough u can call it more like a couple or family hotel i went on my own and i had the best time. Staff has been wonderfull and very helpfull, the beach, right in front, is super and the food in the restaurant was maybe the best in town ( also very reasonable).

Definately this is a hotel i would recommend everybody to try!

My family loved the Ammos Hotel

We just returned from a short visit to Crete and stayed at the Ammos hotel. We had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect and off the main road, so it is quiet at night. Though it is not a high end hotel, my family felt comfortable and the attention from the staff was very personable and very friendly. It has a nice pool, up off the beach, and the beach itself is just steps away from the rooms. We stayed in a suite which had a private bedroom an 2 more beds in a large room which also had the refrigerator/sink~"kitchen" area. The food at the hotel was better than any of the restaurants we tried in the area and ended up eating there everynight. Outstanding service from both the hotel and the restaurant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting that area of Crete and wants a nice, CLEAN, reasonably priced hotel ON THE BEACH.

      I love ammos hotel

i was last year at ammos and i came also this year and i think its the best hotel i ve been so far. Everybody here is so service mined and the location is simply great

The ferry set sail on time and we went to bed in our hard beds, as it's an early start, we dock in Piraeus at 6.00 ...

The gates were open but there wasn't anyone there, however the water was on and the chemical toilet waste was accessible, so we used their facilities (thank you) and then left and parked at the end of the road for the night outside a closed taverna. It was just going dark, the nights seem to be drawing out now, and the evening sky was just lovely, bright pink against a lovely deep ...

We bought coffee and cakes at the cafe and enjoyed them sat in the sunshine. Les suggested driving back to Lake Kournas and having lunch at one of the tavernas that spit roast lamb. Sounds lovely! The day started with a walk along the beach, we stopped to speak to a lady who was chatting to a younger man. They were both British and were interested in our travels. We passed the tavernas of which a couple were open and at the end of the beach where the waves were reaching the top we cut through to the road. We headed back and then had coffee before setting out for Rethymno. We need to top up the Internet and we can only do that at ...

We returned to Dream Catcher, we had been out a couple of hours and the sun had gone leaving the valley chilly as the wind blew down off the snow.
