... be hosting a huge crazy party in a house- it was awesome!! Lights everywhere, sweet music, c00l ass hippies and dreads hangin and dancin. We went down these spiral stairs that had a red-light lined railing and found ourselves in a bangin basement that had a mini electronic show going on. And we were about 6 inches from the DJ. Germans just do it right. Espeically the ones in Vauban. A good end to a great, unexpected day.
The following is a list of things I have done so far to correctly play my role as an Amerikan studying in Deutschland.
- Ordered pizza, online via Pizza.de (the grubhub of pizza in Germany)
- Successfully carried out my first international trade of MaryJane
- Went up to a "Gymnasium" looking for membership details- in Deutschland, Gymnasium means Highschool.
- Spent 10 minutes trying to figure out if I was holding laundry detergent or fabric ...
... try to scream excuse me over the loud music anyway? And it's not like I really want to say it because I sound so Amerikan when I do, dammit. Er-shool-ee-goon. Somethin like that. Also, Germans are SO GOOD at foozball. I thought it was just my German suitemate Matt who was good, but the game they played was tiiiight and really entertaining because they're amazing good. I guess foozball must be the beer pong of Germany. Overall, it was ...
... in time for the party to start... since we started the party. But actually- a guy on my program paid me 2€ to get on the huge stage and start the dance party since no one was up there dancing yet. It was a great success. And so we danced. For about 3 hours, to the greatest 80s hits. Some of my favorites were of course 99 Red Balloons, Jitterbug, Eye of the Tiger, anything Michael Jackson, etc. It was a blast.
