... overlooked the garden. There was still part of the moat along one side of the property and access around the old wall of the castle.

For dinner we walked about a kilometre up a long driveway in the next paddock to La Ferme Lizarraga (the 'Farm House’) which is owned by the brother of the Count (!). We had a lovely dinner, tasting the local seafood and delicacies- we are definitely turning into ‘foodies’!

Missing some waves and warmer
water we get the Easy jet flight from Gatwick to Bordeaux. We’ve not booked
anywhere, but Hossegor / Capbreton is our destination. Travelling in the off
peak season has it’s advantages, less places are booked and it’s cheaper.
