Tempers, slightly frayed

... we take one exit too early, and are soon driving along a single track road, surrounded by dense pine forest, needless to say, it is pouring with rain.
Three miles of recriminations later, tempers fraying rapidly, the sat nav instructs us to turn right into an even narrower gravel track.
No chance!.
The good news is, there is just enough hard ground at the entrance to the track to turn the van around, ...

so it hasn't stopped raining so we left Hossegor open carpark pretty quickly and have made our way down the coast to Saint Jean-De-Luz - i can't for the life of me remember who recommended this place to me but it is very very pretty! the coastal roads and little villages along our route from Biarritz are lovely and we have stopped off in one to pillage WIFI from a cafe where we are sat now and keep warm for a bit and spend a few pennies ...

... this time in the medieval quarter of Bilbao and it was the train ride home and planning where we go next. 17th April. We have awoken to what is likely to be a hot day. We left the site to stop off at a petrol station where they still have an attendant to put the fuel in for you, something we haven't had in the UK for a number of years. After a doubtful start, the day is warm and sunny, so a day of lazing in the sun. The plan in the evening is to walk into town, eat, then Kathleen is going to church.

The plan does not work, we find there is no where serving food at 5 o'clock in the afternoon. So, we have to settle for enormous sandwiches from a take away sandwich shop, which we eat sitting ...

Missing some waves and warmer
water we get the Easy jet flight from Gatwick to Bordeaux. We’ve not booked
anywhere, but Hossegor / Capbreton is our destination. Travelling in the off
peak season has it’s advantages, less places are booked and it’s cheaper.
That’s the easy bit; the difficult bit is the communication. We get the train
