... Before meeting up with them in the evening Kerry and I cycled around Saint Jean de Luz and its very beautiful. All the houses are Red and White as this is the Basque region. In earlier times the people here were neither French or Spanish. They had their own language or dialect which still exists today and some are still pushing for independence. ... the seven fastest of us (Dave, Linda Don, Peter, Michael, Sue & me) pulled away. The roads were mostly straight and totally flat all the way to Leon where we turned onto D16 to follow the alternate route today. I had a plan to meet Caroline for an early lunch at a specific cafe in Souston, Patati Patata. There is a small poutine restaurant in Montreal with the same name so when I learned of this one, I just had to try it.

... budget on yum frites (Kelly Thompson you would love these frites, they are by far and away the best i have ever tasted, covered in what looks like the franch equivalent of cornish sea salt! drooling yet?!).

We are planning another free night somewhere (day three without a shower, hummmmm!) as we have spent our budget on this meal he he but it was sooooo worth it!

Missing some waves and warmer
water we get the Easy jet flight from Gatwick to Bordeaux. We’ve not booked
anywhere, but Hossegor / Capbreton is our destination. Travelling in the off
peak season has it’s advantages, less places are booked and it’s cheaper.
