Another beautiful Dutch hotel. The service is wonderful. It is a mostly take care of yourself place that does not offer much ammenidies, but that fits since we are hardly in out hotel.

After a long 9 hour bus drive, we finally made it to Amsterdam at Amigo Budget Hostel. Now for my first hostel experience, I did my best to keep an open mind about the place. ... had cleared up a bit so we headed toward the Slave Lodge (museum). A few other stops along the way, a bit to eat and then we headed back to the dryness of the hotel lobby. A few hours later, we were a bit dryer and decided to just head to the airport and eat dinner there rather than run the risk of getting caught in more showers.
The rest of the night was uneventful. We took off at 11:30 pm and flew overnight to Amsterdam.

This is an additional set of body scanners, metal detectors, and luggage scanning that Amsterdam has in place for some international flights. We hadn't been to Amsterdam since before Sam was born so it was great to be there but the weather was terrible. Absolutely pouring down and cold. We checked in to the hotel at the airport then got a train Into town and comforted ourselves with a hot chocolate and Dutch Apple cake ( apple, custard and cinnamon pastry so thousands of calories) before boarding a canal cruise, ...
