Majerovica bb Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia, 21-750300
This was our last day in Bol - we were to catch a ferry to Hvar island and were staying in Hvar town. When we were checking out I was asked to carry a shopping bag to Hvar - apparently this was left behind by a French couple who had been staying at the same B&B and were now in Hvar. The samaritan in me came out and agreed - who the hell cares about not carrying packages for others - security schmecurity. On arriving on the island of Hvar we once again had to get a cab as Hvar town was on ...
Brac to Hvar, Croatia alectI head straight to the old town to do a walk on the city walls before finding a good spot at the hotel beach to finally fall asleep for a few hours. I wake up and grab the "complementary" breakfast yet again before returning to my "bed" and falling asleep for another hour or so. Phin and I have lunch, say goodbye to Irina, and hop in the car to head up to Hvar. We drive through Bosnia and Herzigovinia and make it to the Ferry terminal no more than five minutes after it left. We pass the time ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia madman96We wake up slowly and wind up extending our stay in Hvar another night but have to change rooms. We set up shop at the hotel pool and enjoy a relaxing day by the pool and beach doing not much of anything other than having fun and meeting new people, including a family of Haitians (3 sisters and a brother) travelling around Europe for the summer who I had seen at Villa Argentina in Dubrovnik. An evening nap, Phin's genius idea, serves us well to prepare us for the night to come. We start the n...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia madman96Once again we decide to extend our glorious stay at the Amfora hotel in Hvar and completely write-off Split. We wake up just in time to get the last available room and surprise, surprise, we have to change rooms again. We head down to the port and rent a yacht, ok a little boat, for the day. We chug over to a nearby island for lunch and a day of fun in the sun at the beach. Back in time for an evening nap, we wake up later than planned and make it to Carpe Diem by 11:30 and meet up with the H...

Pieknymi serpentynami dojezdzamy do Orebica. Tam zwiedzamy malowniczy cmentarz marynarzy / o ile mozna mowic w ten sposob o takim miejscu/, ogladamy domy i wsiadamy na prom.

... for lunch - and given the fact that my story had spread around the boat over breakfast, but the time it came for lunch to be served, not many people were willing to take on the chicken... (even though the food I ate the night before was in a restaurant and our chef had prepared - during the course of the entire trip) three ...
Hvar, Hvar Island, Croatia travellingjen... his side and thinking it was Greg and Rimma. None were, though the
town was small enough that it was possible, so we settled down at a café near
where the direct ferry was to come (as he had thought we would take that one)
and waited. The town was similar to others in that it was white limestone
buildings, little churches, lots of boats moored, cafes and restaurants dotted along
the water and the water a stunning clear blue. All very inviting. We decided

... We were entertained by a local accapella group who sang traditonal Croatian folksongs.
Father John scared the living daylights out of a guest from the ship as the guest walked by on a more formal tour. The girls touched the "big toe" of a famous statue that guarantees the wishes of all that complete the ritual.
Lots to absorb in one day. Back to the ship for our evening routine.
... the night we arrived was a big celebration and it took us 20 minutes to walk through the crowd along the Riva. Our first full day here was spent "running errands". We did our laundry in Croatia's ONLY self-service laundrette facility (run by an Aussie!). We have decided from our own experiences of trying to find a self-service laundry that this would be quite the successful business venture! There is ...
