      ... counters with this idea: that people with only bad expectations are grumpy and no fun to be around. I'm working on that. In the meantime, it's been interesting to compare expectations with reality so far on this trip. Expectation: "Real" Croatian food may not be to our liking, but it will at least be interesting.       ... walked up and around the village and town. Several charter boats came into the harbour later in the day they look very nice but are massively expensive. Very simple lifestyle here, housing basic, roads narrow tracks and olive trees everywhere. BBQ on board this night and a few drinks with the crew who gave us an interesting insight into life in Croatia for the younger people. Very few employment opportunities, no real production or infrastructure, corruption rife ...

      The next day we took a boat to an island called Palmizana just off Hvar. We found some resort like areas with beaches which we thought were too crowded. We went off in search of a quieter spot.
