Nice hotel only 5 minutes walk from Luzern rail station and right in middle of town centre - walk anywhere in a few minutes. 5th floor with not much view but nice breakfast

Very nice hotel; a bit different atmosphere from the more quaint, family-run places we've been staying. Breakfast had a great selection of items, except for variety of fruit. Great location a block from the river and only two blocks from the train station.

Day 2 Lucerne - Mt Titlis

A travel blog entry by max.campbell on Aug 15, 2015

Slept in after a long day yesterday and late night. Packed some winter gear and left Lucerne by train to Engelberg town at foot of Mt Titlis. Rain and low cloud has set in so this will not be a good day for any views but tickets are pre purchased. There are three gondolas that get you to the top - the third gondola is named the Rotair that rotates …

    Paris to Lucerne

Up early and caught taxi to Paris Gare de Lyon train terminal. Boarded a TGV express train from Paris to Lausanne on Lake Geneva. 2.5 hrs fast trip. Another train Lausanne to Montreux. Had a brief look at Montreux and Lake Geneva. Did not have time to visit Freddy Mercury's memorial just up the road as we were committed to catching another train - …

From Paris, Keller and I were off and away to Lucerne, Switzerland for the next few nights. What would await us in Switzerland, neither Keller nor I could have predicted. It is hands down one of the most beautiful countries either of us has ever visited.  I knew it was going to be beautiful, but pictures and its reputation just did not do it …

... I was very careful with my steps as there were some construction activities going on nearby (they were building a new hotel) that made the path quite dangerous and easy to slip and fall. Also, I was wearing my favorite boots and I didn't want to get them wet. It was very windy and cold as well, so I ended up being almost the last person to get to the top. Kit went up rather quickly though, even with the big camera and tripod. When I ...
