In the last 15 years parts of it have been gentrified by young, wealthy, white people, who have made it quite expensive to live there and now the Hispanics are being forced out because they can't afford it. Think Redfern in Sydney. The other notable feature of Mount Davidson is the 103-foot concrete cross situated on the crest of the hill. It is the site of a yearly prayer service, performed on Easter, when the cross is illuminated and can been seen peeking out from the trees when on the ground below.
