Last day in NY! I had my first fried Oreo experience today - I've literally been missing out my entire life. It was the best fried food I've ever had. We went on a tour of the radio city music hall and met a Rockette. It was pretty cool to see behind the scenes. After that we went for a bit of a walk around the Central Park area. Later that night we took the lady liberty twilight ...

The day before we left the City, we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge to see some incredible views of the skyline of the City. So I added some of the photo's we took. Driving out of New York went better than I thought it would, due to previous planning on Google Maps. Half way to Washington, stopped overnight at Elkton on a Walmart car park to re-stock. ... Good appearances overall…we’ve found that at nursing homes, the best use of our time is simply sitting and talking with people; making that personal connection with as many of them as we can. They’re not looking so much to be entertained as they are for someone to talk to, so we’ve toned down the program content and have made time to go table to table, which seems to be going over a lot better. We’ve both held many hands, heard ...

A Bit of Past and a Bit of Present.

A travel blog entry by avalonakasha on Dec 30, 2011

We woke up in Philadelphia, and left our bags in our hotel. We decided to walk to Independence Hall, since it wasn't that far. We had afew hours before we had to leave for New York.

I was excited to see Independence Hall again....we went through the bag check bit and were made to take off a million layers, only to find out that we were supposed to get tickets from the visitors centre. You have to have a guided tour at a certain time. So ...
