Fun Fact About Bush's Political Career

Historical Traveler Reviews Hyatt Place Indianapolis Airport
Having a hard time correcting a mistake they made
Our company had a booth at the INDY show at the RCA dome in Feb of 2007. I booked all our salespeople there and kept very good tabs of our reservations. While we were there, the front desk and everyone were quite helpful, though the renovations at the hotel kept the elevator monopolized for most the day. All in all it was a pretty good stay. However now I'm being charged on my credit card for a "1 night deposit" penalty charge for a room that I had cancelled back in November 2006. It took forever for them to even figure out why I had my card charged and now its been a total of 6 working days emailing, faxing, calling them to try to show them that I cancelled it via email request to their manager. I've called numerous times and to no avail, no conversation with manager. This is the 7th working day that I'm trying to get my card credited. I would have to say that if your stay goes perfectly and they don't make any mistakes you are fine. If they do make one, it can eat up a lot of your time trying to get it fixed. For this reason I would not return here.
I loved the hotel!!
I stayed here once because I was traveling in to see a Colts game. The people here are very accommdating and friendly. The hotel was very clean and well maintained.
I read on here that the breakfast was fantastic, yet I think it was overrated. I did enjoy the waffles though.
The shuttle driver was the NICEST person and he engaged us in several conversations whenever he saw my party.
Overall I thought that it was well worth it for the price I paid ($55/night through priceline.com).
I would recommend renting a car because they is nothing really in walking distance besides a gas station. (they were nice too!)
Convenient, clean, nice stay
I've stayed at this hotel several times for business. Last time was in June 2006. The hotel is close to Indianapolis airport and their free shuttle is fast and friendly.
Location: I'm not familiar with Indy geography but based on what little I see when I am there, there doesnt seem to be many local attractions nearby. There is no retail or entertainment. mostly businesses and an airport. However this area gets packed in May for Indy 500 and I have talked with many travelers who say they stay there during race seasons.
Rooms: The rooms are nice with free wifi broadband internet connections, a sofa, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, iron, and hair dryer. The beds are average, comfortable enough. The rooms and facility are clean and well kept up.
Amenities: The complimentary breakfast is better than the average continental breads and cereal. They offer eggs, fruit, fresh waffles, and more. I've attended meeting in their meeting rooms, they are good. The staff is friendly and the shuttle service is convenient, they will take you to restaurants, store, etc.
Staff. I've never had a problem with staff, they are friendly and helpful. Remember this is a mid range hotel, there is no bellhop or white glove treatment, no concierge or pull down service, but the staff is good.
Overall this is a good value for the average business or casual traveler.
Park and fly
We stayed at this hotel the night before a Thanksgiving Day flight to Denver. We were allowed to park our car there for five days (included in stay). This hotel is wonderful - staff is very friendly and helpful. The van driver was very pleasant - even at 4:30 a.m. to take us to the airport! The rooms are nice and large with a seperate living/kitchen area. Very quiet! We used to stay across the street at the Adams Mark but were constantly kept up all night by noisy partiers/convention people. The Amerisuites has won us over!
AmeriSuites does it right!
I stayed at this hotel during the Labor Day Weekend, for the NHRA US Nationals at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This hotel was one of the nicest hotels Ive stayed in using priceline. I got the hotel for $48 p/n during the Labor Day Weekend (Rack Rate $139). The hotel is located near a nice Marathon station, with plenty of snacks and drinks. It is also surounded by airport parking lots. The lobby is very nice, with marbel floors and a nice breakfast knook area where the free continental breakfast is served at. The staff is extremly friendly. The rooms are spotless, and are more or less "oversized" rooms, that feature a king bed, pullout sofa and small kitchenette with microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The rooms are very well built, and have thick walls and doors. The airport is only about 1.5 miles away, but you here very little noise, in light of the thick walls. The hotel is located about 4 miles from Downtown Indy. The "Indianapolis Speedway" is a quite a hike from the hotel, but the "Indianapolis Raceway Park" is within 7 miles. Overall, the AmeriSuites gave us a great stay, and we WILL be back, priceline or not!!
Amerisuites- a great place to stay
We arrived to our destination just after midnight on a Sunday. We had reserved a room on the internet and had asked for a room near the front lobby. When we arrived, we were given a room down the hallway from the lobby. The front lobby is beautiful and the staff very friendly. Our non-smoking room was fragrance free, clean and the king sized bed was very comfortable. A breakfast buffet was provided. There were scrambled eggs, sausage patties and the usual fare of belgium waffles, fruit, cereal and the like. We would return to this Amerisuites if in the area again.
Wonderful place to stay
My 8 year old daughter and I stayed at the AmeriSuites Indy Airport Speedway June 23 - 26. The hotel is very close to the airport but you rarely heard the airplanes in your hotel room. :-) The beds were comfortable and the decor was new. Our room had a microwave and a dorm sized refrigerator. There was also an iron and ironing board as well as a coffee pot in the room. A four place setting was in the cabinet.
The cleaning staff did a great job and the front desk was very helpful.
They have a shuttle service within a 5 mile radius. The hotel was very prompt at picking us up from the airport. They also had no problem driving me to the car rental place that was not at the airport. The shuttle driver even gave me great suggestions on eating establishments and entertainment!
The hotel had a terrific breakfast each morning from 5:30 - 9:30. The selection was great - cereals, fruit, bagels, eggs, sausage - and even a waffle maker to make your own waffle. They had strawberries and whipped cream or syrup for the waffles. In the afternoon, they popped popcorn for guests to enjoy - as well as set fruit out.
The pool was not heated when we were there - but it was in the 90's that week so it made sense. The water was pretty cool for the grownups but the kids didn't seem to mind. :-)
There was a convenience store across the street you could walk to - but no restaurant on sight. However, you could use the shuttle service to go to a nearby restaurant if you wanted I'm sure. I saw a gentleman with a page long list of choices. There were also a few restaurant flyers in the room that advertised that they would deliver chinese food and pizza.
The weight room was larger than any hotel I have been in. They had many pieces of equipment available to use.
Their airport transfer service is 24 hours a day - on demand. They just ask for about 10 minutes notice and they are ready to take you to your gate. Front desk is open 24 hours a day as well.
Hotel is about 7 miles from downtown and it was easy to get there from the hotel. However, hotel does not provide courtesy transportation downtown since it is more than 5 miles. I was told a cab ride from the hotel to downtown would be $15 each way.
Hope this helps and that you have a wonderful time in Indy!
Excellent
I stayed here for the Indy 500. The hotel is well located only a short distance from the airport - with a complimentary shuttle from the hotel. The rooms all include a kitchenette and are clean, modern and well layed out.
The hotel staff were all pleasant and the breakfast buffet was of good quality.
The only possible downside is the hotel has not resteraunt (except breakfast) and would probably require a car to reach any resteraunts. There is a gas station located just across the road though that sells some groceries.
