Historical Traveler Reviews of Amerisuites Flagstaff Interstate Crossroads

Great stay - THanks!

from A TripAdvisor Member
In town with kids for hockey tournament-- GREAT rooms, very clean. Breakfast was excellent, very extensive- something to please everyone, and LOTS of it! Great location, too, near restaurants and NAU as well as Walmart for necessities. Recommend "Bunhuggers" Restaurant up the street for GREAT burgers.

Thank you to the friendly staff for helpful info.

Amerisuites - Great Value!

I stayed here for a conference at the university and I was very pleased. My only complaint was that the bed linens were scratchy. But the amount of space you get for the money is unmatched and the "continental breakfast" Amerisuites offers keeps you full through lunchtime and on to supper. There is a waffle iron and strawberries and whipped cream as well as syrup! And Flagstaff is a great base for sightseeing. I highly recommend the hotel and the area.

Nothing Special

from A TripAdvisor Member
I'm not sure why everyone has given this hotel such a good rating. It's location is good: it's just off the interstate and next to a strip mall with a grocery store (Basha's). It's across the street from Northern Arizona University if you're there for the school. It's far enough away from the railroad tracks that you don't hear the trains all night long. Other than that it's not that special. The room I was in had two parts (bed, bathroom and pullout couch, kitchen). Both parts were very small. The refrigerator was small (not micro-mini) and didn't have a separate freezer. Pets are welcome here . so be aware if you have allergies. The room really needed an update (new furniture, repairs, new bathroom fixtures). Housekeeping put unfitted sheets on the bed , so they kept coming off. The kitchen sink was just a bar sink (tiny). There wasn't a cook top. The microwave was wimpy. The soundproofing between rooms was good ,but the hallways were noisy with running children and pets and the doors weren't soundproofed. Would I stay here again? No.

Staff one of the worst on our trip

from A TripAdvisor Member
Upon arriving at this hotel over 2 hours after THEIR check in time, we were informed that our room was not cleaned yet and that we were welcome to wait. When I questioned the hotel assistant general manager about why our room wasn't cleaned yet, I was told that they had a busy night (this was a Monday when we were checking in). I told them that I felt that 2 hours beyond their check in time was beyond reason and I was given the excuse that "things happen"- no appologies at all for their inconvenience.

Our room had an electrical outlet hanging out of the wall between the bed mattress and the outlet box- just right for a night-time shock. I repaired this myself because the management seemed so distant to our concerns.

The pool was small, but decent. The breakfast offerings were good.

Overall, not the worst hotel we stayed at, but really not that great of a hotel either. Probably would not stay at this hotel again due to the management and lack of safety maintenance.

Good base for Flagstaff

from SEUK
This was our first trip to the USA, so the hotel was important. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable, spacious and clean, although noise from the adjoining rooms was fairly loud at times, although not that many. The indoor pool was too cold to be comfortable, although this is a minor gripe. The warning (from a review on this site) about the under provision of breakfast places proved to be true, although we never had to wait long to get a table. I am still amazed by the way at how many people were having waffles with syrup and cream for breakfast ! The hotel is across the road from a number of shops and restaurants, and it was a 5 minute drive to the centre of Flagstaff, which is also a lovely place. It was quite something to have a view of the mountains behind the town every time we left the hotel.

All in all we felt quite at home at the Amerisuites, and it helped make our first visit to the USA something to remember.

Family Approved.

Visited late Dec03. Agree with other positive reviewers. Check-in: fast and friendly. Rooms-clean, functional, uncrowded, noisy heater, hot shower, family friendly. Facilities-clean and adequate.

Breakfast-fresh, nice variety of offerings, try to eat early to avoid the crowds. Within walking distance to shops & restaurants (Olive Garden, Fazolis, Walmart, Red Lobster, etc.) My family of four were all pleased with this hotel. The previous reviews sold us on this hotel and we were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend to others.

We were pleasantly impressed.

This was our first stay at AmeriSuites and will probably not be our last. The staff was very accommodating when we had to change our reservation - arrived two days early. They sent a cab to the train station to pick us up when we got in after hours; took their courtesy van in the morning. Very good breakfast buffet - "bountiful" as advertised.

Very nice........would stay there again

from dhdinmaine
My wife and I made the Amerisuites our home for nine days last October while we explored northern Arizona. We had a very nice suite on the third floor and the rates were resonable. The hotel is located just outside the downtown area and is within easy walking distance to numerous restaurants & shopping center. It's location gives you quick access to either I-17 or I-40. The staff was very friendly and curtious and the complimentary breakfast is very good however the breakfast area is small and tends to fill-up quickly. There are two elevators in the building but only one was working when we were there and it made waits long at peak guest movement times. Amerisuites does allow tractor-trailers to park in the lot and their idling can be a quite irritating at night. This hotel doesn't boast any awe-inspiring views, etc.... but it doesn't claim to either. The suites, rates, staff & location makes it excellant for extended stays. My wife and I would easily stay there again................

Lovely place, lovely people

At $79...What a bargain! These hotel rooms are really "suites"...not just a room with a fridge.

If I'd known then what I know now, I would have just used this hotel as my base in Arizona, and not spent the night in so many different places.

No, it isn't a destination in itself, not a resort, no spectacular views...just nice, clean, affordable, convenient, and family-friendly.

The staff was SOOO friendly and accomodating. We had to switch rooms, checked in early, etc. They were extremely kind and patient.

The pool is small, and there's not much else to do around the hotel, except explore Flagstaff. But there are lots of affordable restaurants nearby, and it is centrally located to the highway and everything else.

I would definitely stay here again!

Great facility

from A TripAdvisor Member
We recently stayed at the AmeriSuites Flaggstaff for 3 nights while sight-seeing in the Grand Canyon and Sedona areas. The rooms were well appointed, fresh and clean. The staff were courteous and helpful and the buffett breakfast was truly bountiful. The facility was located within walking distance to a number of restaurants and was centrally located to all of the attractions that had been planned by our tour consultant. Our only complaint was the use of excess chemicals in the hottub which hurt the eyes. All in all a first rate facility.
