... of Vermont where he seems to know everyone! The campus is beautiful and his new offices are gorgeous. We got to meet his staff and hear how much they love him. That was a blessing for us to hear. We also got a tour of Ra´ssa's art studio and the Lake Champlain Chocolate Store...yum!

... adorable grandson, Zander, was born and we are really looking forward to getting to see him, Ra´ssa, and our darling little two year old, Elianna!

I'm including the latest photo of Zander as he experiences pumpkin carving for the very first time!

Aloha mai kakou,

I finally got to Chicago...after the FAA disaster shut down O'Hare Airport! The flight from Maui to Portland was typical for a redeye...miserably uncomfortable, person in row ahead with the seat all the way back...blah, blah, blah. We arrived in Portland right on schedule and then had a 7...SEVEN...hour delay! But Bob was at the airport to pick me up so all ended well.

We left Chicago early Saturday morning (9/13). Jeff and Mark made us a nice breakfast, helped us load the car and we were off. First tourist stop was the Spam Museum in Austin, MN. I did not realize Spam does not contain any snout or hoof...just premium pork shoulder. People were walking out with cases of this stuff. ...

... the Midwest. The Walleye was as fresh and tender as any we have ever eaten in Wisconsin. The brown butter was a compliment to the fish and did not mask any of its flavor. Our only complaint was we couldn't finish all of it since the tail end had a lot of bones. That said, we were full by then anyway since we had a really nice salad for an appetizer.
