... the very park we stayed at! Actually though, the entire Lake of the Woods area in which Kenora is situated is lovely, a beautiful part of Ontario that has attracted vacationers and inspired artists for many years.

Driving south of Regina on Hwy 6, not even a tiny turn was needed! An 8-10 mile stretch south of Weyburn, Sask provided quite the active oil fields. Oil wells seem to be Iocated near or at the top of a knoll.....and in the middle of a wheat field or other crops. Pipelines are being installed. Heavy equipment and huge trucks fill the landscape. After walking a short distance we realised we now knew where all the mosquitoes in Manitoba live. We were swarmed within a few minutes. Strange, because I sat outside yesterday for several hours and didn't see one. We turned around to leave and within a few minutes the mosquitoes were gone. ...
So today marks the end of our East Coast Adventure and it is bittersweet. We've loved seeing my parents and experiencing all we can but we are sad to leave knowing it's going to be a while before we can come back.
