We left Bannack national park into a **** storm. The weather was cold and it was edging on rain. Felt like a typical London winters day. After reading the guidebook and looking at the map, we decided not to take the route and opted for the interstate. The route apparently becomes a nightmare after rain, turning into glue like mud. We chose right, as not long after feet hit pedal, rain came and the wind picked up. We took shelter under an old store porch by a reservoir ...
Rexburg, Idaho, United States jeydoublesyou... about as if frozen in place, cameras at the ready. It blew long enough for me to zoom in and get 3 shots.
With only 27 miles to the East entrance and on to Cody, I felt I was making good time when all of a sudden there was a row of stopped cars, people rushing into the road with cameras (reminded me of the "disaster movies" where the crowds are trying to run away). Turned out there was a large fuel spill up ahead and we all ...
... is a great little town. Motel 6 here had internet problems. I finally had them switch rooms and I could get on. It was a very nervous feeling to be incommunicado!! Ah for the days when you just jumped into your car armed with a suitcase, picnic basket and a radio, and had to find a phone booth to get in touch with home. Trying to keep up with ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States journal70... and then we put ice in it to make it cold and they just look at me like I must be nuts. If only they knew how nuts they must be to put ice in their coffee. Oh well, I think we must be approaching the south side of this boundary soon I hope. We saw the prettiest and fattest antelopes in some of the alfalfa fields today. They were feasting on the fields and then watering in the beautiful lakes in the area. We had a really good drive again today and ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States schroederdWe made our way from Salt Lake City to Idaho Falls today passing through the valleys where wheat and potatoes are grown. We were surprised to see how industrialized Salt Lake City is, the north end being home to many small industries. The Wasach Mountains continued to be on our right side. We followed the Great Salt Lake until its end and then moved into the ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States rosemarysSurprisingly we left at 8:00am which was very early for us!!!!!!! We have a long drive ahead of us to Idaho. To break the journey up we decided to stop at Salt Lake City. When we arrived Utah's State Capitol Building looked very impressive. We joined a guided tour of the building. It was finished in 1916 and in 2004 extensive renovations were carried out including the fitting of base ...

First things first:
NO RV PROBLEMS TO REPORT TODAY!!!!!! :) :) :)
Actually, the title of this entry is a bit misleading because we didn't have anything break down, although we did hang around in parking lots most of the day fixing things we had had on our infamous to-do lists. For example, this morning I finally finished cleaning out our ...
... magnificent sight that we would have been happy to stare at for the rest of the day - though the Texan on his mobile phone ("Guess where I am buddy, on the shore of Lake Yellowstone, yeah, man, it's sumthin' else man..." etc etc) may have dissuaded us somewhat. The loop road around the park is approximately 100 miles of views so good that I'll have to leave it to the photos to describe. The size and diversity of offerings is ...
Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States pjarowi1Back to the ranch in time for a cattle drive. I also had the opportunity to get out and take photos during the "sweet light", just before the sun sets. The ranch provided me with lots of great angles for photos.
So, they move the cattle from the winter range to the spring range. They had moved a few before we got there and we helped move an additional 500 cattle one day and about 150 the next.
It was ...
Rexburg doesn't have a lot to right home about, but was still a nice stop over. Bear World is about as touristy as you would imagine, but was still worth it to see all the bears and the drive through park. Kids enjoyed the petting zoo and amusement rides as well.
