Well I finally left my humble abode in Stevens Point but not without a few shed tears. . . We (Mariah, Mom, Dad, Taj and I) are all on our way to MN to Kali's for the "last supper". I can't believe that I'll be in China in less than a day! I don't think I've ever experienced so many emotions at one time. I am completely overwhelmed and could cry at the mere mention of not seeing the people I love for a year or the sight of ...
Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States billiechristineWe arrived... got drinks... set up the tents while drinking... pretty happy before 5pm... oh no... no wood for the bonfire... went to gas station.. bought marshmellows, more drinks, snacks, hot dogs... walked out and noticed big pile of firewood... oops... guess we should get some of that too...
Friendship, Wisconsin, United States gosiajoeyHey guys, As you might have guessed from the title of this entry, we are indeed done with our trip. Sr. Olson is back in Rice Lake with his family, and I sit here alone, writing this in Marshfield....it is a sad day. There isn't much to say since we only had a few days since our last blog, but I'll try to bring everyone up to speed. We had a few more days on Bocas del Toro, which we took full advantage of. We went to a few more sweet beaches and enjoyed the ...
Marshfield, Wisconsin, United States wolfeac... locally run pub (by Archie) and his wife Sue. Denny and Mak meet their friends there every Friday Morning for lunch. They were all great characters and "sassy" Americans. We heard the "how do you sell a duck to a deaf man?" joke and I had an excellent chicken sandwich, while Jules had a brilliant beef burger. But, the best part was Archie himself. Archie has a country and western band, he collects electric guitars and in his spare time, he ...
Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States gregjulWell, I am excited about taking a road trip down to Lawrence with fellow family members, should be fun! I was down in Lawrence in March for my interview, however, the interview was the whole day, and I therefore did not get to see much of this beautiful city. We are also going to ...
Stevens Point, Wisconsin, United States cackerman... like a pretty decent second to last day. Tomorrow will be all about tying up the loose ends. I feel like I still have a ton to do, but really, it wouldn't take long to get done if I would actually just do it. Instead I go to do it and get distracted by TV, computer, glass of wine, etc. Ceste le vie. Side note: I just did a spell check and it came up with "blog" and wanted to make it "bog". It's slightly ironic that my Blog doesn't even know what it is.
Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, United States carrrrinThis entry is dedicated to a Miss Corrie Leech, whose cabin was absolutely amazing. Although at some points of the weekend, I thought that I was in American Pie, spending the weekend with 8 or so college students in a isolated cabin on the beautiful Green ...
Green Lake, Wisconsin, United States urbangoddess... no chains) where you will meet wonderful people and can learn a great deal about their part of the world. I had two sightings on our return of what America is all about. The first was on highway 50 east of La Junta Colorado at mile marker 426 where the owner of a very small and challenged rural home on the front range was flying a large American Flag and under it was the Marine flag. The small town of Dow, Iowa had their hilltop cemetery ...

Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, United States carrrrin... got to see them again before I left. Then they went off to the Waterfront, and I packed up for the last time. Taxi to the airport and checked in. There are new luggage weight limits of 23 or 25 kg per piece, but the people seemed confused and thought that was the total, but luckily there was a supervisor there who knew. My suitcases were something like 20 kg and 23 kg. That was part of the reason for getting a second suitcase rather than ...
