      ... boys had discovered a little walk up a creek that led into the lake, it went up to the road above and under. They enjoyed walking hunched over through the drain pipe, trying no to step on the trickle of water at their feet. Wonderful to see them outdoors exploring.

      Before long it was time for us to depart, hard to say good bye to Laura as it's unknown when we will see each other again. Great to know she has such a great partner.

      ... showing definite signs of fall, and lots of pretty lakes. Crossed the Mississippi river at St. Cloud and almost didn't notice it. Not nearly as dramatic as crossing the Missouri a few days ago.

      ... the kids before making use of the fire pit for s'mores. Many marshmallows were consumed, lots of sticky fingers and big smiles. Most grown-ups had dessert before dinner, s'mores was an absolute treat. We even managed to introduce them to Uncle Richard, who wanted to go back for seconds after dinner!

      Conrad managed to get away for a short drive and walk, he wanted to see some more wildlife. He was not lucky with that but ...

      ... that looked really promising, but ended up with billions of mosquitos attacking us, so we ate in the car and enjoyed the view from there.
      The rest of the drive was nothing spectacular. Everything just looked the same everywhere. The trees were too close together and to the road to really see much of anything, but we had NO ONE on the road with us so we didn't mind at all.

      ... Two Harbors!
      There is a very nice rocky beach right in front of us and, of course, a lake that looks as big as an ocean.
      We found a great trail that goes up to the left of the beach through a memorial park and dumps us out at a light house and Iron Ore port in Agate Bay. (Or what ever they call it. It's where the big ships come in and they fill them with iron ore. It's enormous.)
