The weather was funny. I think because I was driving either north or south, and the weather system was moving west to east, I kept driving in and out of it. All day long, wipers on...no - wipers intermittent...oops, sunglasses on...sunglasses off...hail...rain...brilliant sunshine..sunshine and rain at the same time...and on and on. After spending a few days in Chicago we were happy to arrive at Peninsula State Park. We couldn't have asked for a better campground with the park having a site right on Lake Michigan. Shortly after making dinner on our first night we were surprised when a park ranger drove around the campground announcing severe thunderstorm.
