    I woke early to the sound of a text about 4:30 am notifying that my flight leaving was delayed by a 1/2 hour. Another text about 6:45 saying further delay. I got up then figuring I will need to try to contact Delta as I will not make my connection in LA to Minneapolis if it is that delayed that long. I made some coffee & Barb was up right away.     ... what it was...) So there! Sioux Falls sits on billion year old quartzite, which was once covered by a mile thick glacier. Now a days the exposed rock bed makes for a lovely waterfall park in the center of town. We saw (and smelled) the Hormel plant nearby and elected not to take a tour.     Today Gary and I went to the Pipestone National Park to see where the Indians mined for red stone. They still mine this today and make the traditional pipes.
