... Storms to fire. Colt Forney, who is another 1/4 of Basehunters with our Guides Kevin and Scott turned up with his wife to wait out on Initiation.
While we were there, Randy and Lisa, the Outlaw chasers, who I met last year came to catch up with us and wait it out too. It's really nice to see chasers who I bumped into last year that sometimes make the effort to come and meet us.
Storms fired at about 2.30 - 3pm so we got on the road and chased ...
... Bar. Today I had a nice bike ride down the Arkansas River Trail to check out the Keeper of the Plains Plaza and the Wichita Art Museum. Highlights of the museum were the exhibits on daguerrotypes (early form of photography) and modern artists using old photography ...
... It wasn't as good as home, but it was exactly what I needed! Perfect road trip food! A few more hours on the road, and we made it into Wichita, Kansas. When we left Houston, it's was sunny and 95 degrees. In Wichita, it's night and 59 degrees. Looks like I'm going to bust out the jeans tomorrow! We will have about six more hours to Denver before we meet up with another high school classmate for a weekend of Broncos ...

Today we headed north to Wichita, KS. In contrast to the park in Thackerville, OK, the one in Wichita was pretty new. Lots of concrete, not much in the way of trees. It sorta felt like we were camping on an airport runway. Good laundry, showers, and restrooms. (Hey, those things are important!)
... on our whole trip...not likely to happen, but it would be very nice. The first part of our drive we passed many, many trucks hauling lumber, logs, and sawn slats. Considering the number of trucks and lumber yards that we saw, we are amazed that there are any trees left in Missouri.
By the way...the score on mess ups as far as road directions are concerned is now tied: one for Chickie, one for John. Yesterday you may remember certain ones of us ...
