Today was our last day in Montana, and though we will miss the scenery and the very nice people, we will not miss the "Loose Gravel" road construction. We were not really dressed for hiking so we returned to the trailer and off we went on the Thousand Springs Scenic Byway. It is amazing how much water is around this area. As it was Karen's birthday we decided to celebrate by doing the Bald Mountain trail, a 5 mile hike, entirely uphill with a peak elevation of 7.5k feet, approximately 2.5k feet higher than the trail head......what could possible go wrong?
