So go to a ski resort and their is literally not one flake of snow around. It was a good thing that on the way there we stopped off at frisco and hung out in that cute little village and had lunch and played in the snow. We arrived there later in the afternoon so I decided to catch up on some washing and let the kids swim in their amazing swimming …

... back in the 90's. He had been a regular competitor in the Winter X Games as an aerialist and subsequently been host of these games for the last 13 years. Definitely a pioneer in the extreme winter sports. Nowadays he is a little more grown up and is an ambassador for Obermeyer and also in demand as a commentator for these events. Back to do it all again! Men's Super G on the difficult Birds of Prey Course at Beaver Creek.

Super G is like downhill but with a few more gates that the skier has to pass through. This adds to the challenge for the skier and excitement for the spectators as sometimes it all goes horribly ...

We have travelled a long way to see this Blue Ribbon event on the World Cup Alpine Skiing Calendar. It has been much anticipated in our household for some months. Knowing that this is the final hit out for the athletes on the Birds of Prey course before the 2015 World Championships we knew the world's best would be here and we certainly have not been disappointed.

Once again a cloudy overcast day with a light dusting of early morning snow ...

... Cafe. Obviously the best value place to eat/drink as it is packed every evening. Happy hour is 3-6pm and great value. Local microbrewery beers on tap. Colorado Amber Ale is a favourite of ours. Their Bowl of Chilli is hot, warming and filling. The burgers are fantastic (better than Two Moos), Enchiladas tasty but not sure about the orange cheese, Nachos is superb - a generous portion that well and truly satisfied us for less than $10!
