Unfortunately, all of the running in the tall grass has had two side effects for the dogs. Dasher has apparently become allergic to something in the terrain because her eyes keep gooping up in the mornings, and ticks. I found the first one on Doodle today.

Once again we ended up pulling into a campground with no one in it. Amazing! The park itself looks like Mile Square Park (for those of you from the Orange County area). There are large open areas of natural vegetation and each camp site has a large area that his kept manicured. Lots of deer, Red Winged Black Birds, ducks and some turkey vultures.

... the kids. We then went to the Christmas Eve service at Zion Lutheran Church and then to Vern (Wayne's brother) for the evening. We had potluck dinner, sang Christmas carols and enjoyed a visit from Santa. Porter sang his heart out and was super excited when he got the anvil. He told Santa he had asked for it for 3 years. He told me afterwards that it was "a dream come true."
Kristin, Anthony & Porter stayed at Missy's that night but Wayne and I drove home ...
After 2 1/2 days of driving we arrived in Bismarck on Saturday. We stayed in the camper at Missy & Steve's that night. The snow banks had finally melted enough to clear the driveway so we had enough room. We were sure glad to see everyone. Madison was at a Girl Scout event so Missy and I went to watch her for awhile ...
... visit. They hadn't had supper so ordered pizza but we just had popcorn and a drink. I ordered a Tom & Jerry which was a treat since it was my first and only one this year. It really hit the spot on such a chilly evening.
Friday morning I made a peach crisp which we took to Quinn's for coffee that afternoon. Mike & Cissie are going to Mexico with us in January so we talked about that and also compared notes on hiking and camping in AZ. They have been down ...
