We spent the night in the RV at Cheaha State Park in Talladega Alabama.
We arrived early enough to take some pics as we headed up the mountain.
Poor RV had a tough time getting up some of the hills. I think we were down to about 15 MPH on a few of the steeper ones. What happens when we get out west :(

... salad for the group in one of the hotel's meeting rooms was met with resounding applause. It was another opportunity to get to know our fellow travellers and enjoy an early evening after an exciting day.

Not looking forward to returning to the snow we heard about this morning. Being in Alabama is like being in summer. The people are friendly and the countryside is beautiful.

... It is a self proclaimed Beer town of America and there are almost 20 micro brewers in the local area. We had a great night at this cool bar which was also a bike shop, so much so that they let us stay and continue drinking with the staff after it closed. I was shocked by their award wages though and one guy who was in his thirties was still only getting paid $8 hour.

... Alabama. We stopped at one yard sale where I picked up a glassine envelope with two pieces of metal inside. The metal pieces had printing on them - "Pennsylvania - Don't Stand Me Still!" I asked the lady seller what they were and she told me she had no idea, but that "if I knew what it was I'd have to charge you more." She gave me the pieces for free.
