... and I found something for me - a 6 pack of diet IBC root beer. I've got one in the refrigerator now!

This evening, we are meeting a long-time friend for supper. He moved to Fort Worth with Lockheed spring a year ago. It will be nice to spend some time with him!

Tomorrow we continue on our way home, stopping at Shreveport for the night (and some more shopping!). Till then....

... formerly known as the Confederate Air Force) in Midlands, TX, but they are closed on Sunday.

So now we are in Fort Worth. We have a comfortable suite at the Navy Gateway Inn and Suites at NAS Fort Worth (formerly Carswell AFB). We found a barbecue place for supper after we checked in - Dickey's Pit Barbecue. The food was good and plentiful, though a little more informally served than one would expect for the price.

... help in the airport. One testy store cashier mad because all I had was a 50 for my bottle of water. It was all the ATM would give me. She says she gets that a lot at her store. Must frustrate her. Only bad encounter so far. It is now 3 am ft. Worth time and starting to feel it. Don't know if we can stay up all day or not to get on to Germany ...

... the water and the more she drank, the better she became. During those years, Mineral Wells became a destination for people much like Hot Springs, AR. There is also a very large hotel (currently only a shell), the Baker. It dominates the scenery. After drinking of the water, we drove through Cool and Millsap, TX. Both of these towns are like "Don't blink" towns. By the time we arrived back on I-20, it was getting close to lunch time and we had decided to eat at Natty ...

Yesterday we drove up to Mineral Wells, TX with mom & dad. The main objective was to visit Clark Gardens. We did accomplish that today, but not as good as I had hoped. It rained this morning and the trails were muddy, although the sun was out by the time we arrived, and it was difficult for daddy to walk them. We had brought a wheel chair for him to use if necessary, but with the muddy puddles, it was not easy to push him around. We did ...
