We took an open-truck tour to Antelope Canyon from the city of Page in Arizona. If I am not mistaken, Antelope Canyon is still owned by the Navajo indian tribe, hence is not open to private vehicles. In any case, the roads leading to the canyon are not paved, so private vehicles would have a hard time getting through.
Page, Arizona, United States zwergliazrael... l'eau...
Page, Arizona, United States mleleuRather than drive to Page right after exiting the canyon, we elected to grab a hotel on the South Rim. We had dinner, showered, and hit the sack. We woke up at a reasonable hour for once and headed for Page, Arizona. Page sits just south of the Utah border and is a great base for many activities in Northern Arizona / Southern Utah. We stopped ...
Page, Arizona, United States chrismyers... amphitheatre from a slightly different angle. From there, the trail led down in a series of steep switchbacks, the views changing all the time as we descended into the forest of sandstone formations. This part of the hike is along what is known as the Queen's Garden trail, the name only explaining itself right at the end when we were deep in the valley. There, from between the pine trees we could look up to the top of one of the pinnacles ...
Page, Arizona, United States lauravanwaas... seriously!) and relax, we decided that Lone Rock was just not the place for us and drove off back into Utah to Lees Ferry. Lees Ferry camping ground is on the edge of the Colorado River and is where the rafting starts for trips down the Grand Canyon. We went and checked out some rafters starting off and then headed to the camp grounds to set up for the night. The view of the camp grounds was amazing and the trickling of the ...
Page, Arizona, United States roadster76... a beam of light, it's simply breathtaking. The only way to get photos of this is to go on the photo tour. I like to consider myself an amateur photograher but being surrounded by all these professionals was very intimidating. But it was just amazing and I got some pretty good shots to boot.
