... 40 steps and be very close to the water's power. We then went to the Elms, a large mansion owned by the coal baron that supplied all Vanderbilt's railroads and ships and also for the US Navy. He was a navy man and had a wonderful roof view of the harbor. We did part of the house tour and then went on a 1 hour staff tour of the back of the house with a guide. ... amazing dinner view. Mystics centre was quaint with idyllic old buildings, a picturesque draw bridge, interesting little shops, good food and a surprising amount of places to get a drink.
