Lake Mead is really beautiful, but since the water flow coming out of the Lake Mead has been greater than the snow melt coming in for the last 17 years, the lake is looking very low. But it still looked awesome as a recreational area, and we took a bunch of pictures.

As I rounded the corner onto Amboy Rd, there was a big blue sign that said "no services for the next 90 miles", so we turned around and headed back to Twentynine Palms to to off the gas tank.

We wandered through the fake streets of New York trying to find something to eat, battling our way to try and find the exit onto the street through the vast casino. Dinner was a disaster as the children were exhausted and we ended up carrying Ben fast asleep back into the car and to the hotel.

The casino and shops are designed to feel like the cobbled lanes of Paris, complete with cobblestone-like floors and ceilings painted like the sky. Even the signs are in French! And our room has a great view over the pool and of the half-size replica of the Eiffel Tower that sits in front of the hotel.
