Day 1 on the road to Las Vegas

... drove a lot today. Logan did a 5 hour stint, the last 3 driving alone as I opted for the comfort of Eric's truck.

As soon as we were checked in, it was back on the road for a short trip to Cracker Barrel for dinner. We returned to the rooms with everyone full and ready to relax.

Another 500 mile day scheduled for tomorrow, so I am getting some sleep.

Life is good.

... we had to stop coz it was raining so hard was so hard we couldn't see where we were going We stopped at this little hotel and they gave us free coffee and let us use the restroom, they were so lovely. Off to get something to eat then on to Nashville tomorrow baby!!! Love and miss you all loads ...

The RV left Blythewood, SC with hound dog, Braddock, comfy in the co-pilot's seat and 5 hours later, we arrived at our beautiful Walmart campground. Check out that sunset...just beautiful!

Along the way, we listened to the World Cup soccer matches on XM radio. Too bad about the blokes from England. They may be on their way home soon after losing today ...

We began the morning in Clinton just north of Knoxville. We drove Rt 25 also known as Thunder Road back during prohibition. Seems this is beginning of car racing as they would beef up the cars to run moonshine on Rts 25 & 33.

We were looking for a place to eat and found the Apple Blossom Cafe in Clinton. We walked in and all eyes turned to the strangers or was it because I was wearing pants/jeans? ...

... Kentucky Horse Park - beautiful rolling hills of bluegreen grass and white split rail fences as far as the eye can see. Pics eluded us.

First sunset was from the side of Rarity Mountain just north of Knoxville.

Oh the Comfort Suites bathroom counter was so tall I had to stand on the toilet to wash my face. Kiddijg of course - but who the heck thought about using higher furniture as a bathroom vanity must have been 6 ft/10 at ...
