I will be setting out for Tucson Arizona at 6:30 AM Thursday the 19th. I have never visited Tucson so I am excited to see this beautiful city. I am hoping the flights will be uneventful- since I am traveling to Denver 1st( where they just got 14 inches of ...

In many ways, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) provides a place where all nurses along the life span of their careers and beyond can come and witness the evolution of the profession. I left renewed in the purpose to have a chartered chapter at GW because our Department of Nursing Education stands to benefit in so many ways. STTI provides a place to showcase our work, it ...
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States ckopac... Life. It was very interesting. I thought about multiple applications and I thought about its usefulness when we're unable to obtain speciality clinical rotations, e.g., pediatrics or OB.
At 5 pm, there were regional meetings (we will be in Region 12 once we are chartered) for everyone. Here I was warmly welcomed by the other 34 chapters in our region and I got to brag about our ...
... was reminded of how much people have given of themselves to advance the profession of nursing. I returned from the Headquarter's visit renewed in my purpose to get our Honor Society Chartered! And then.....well I went on to several receptions one of which included a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit.....that and a glass of wine ended my day!

All I need to do is invite her; when I return I will poll the Board, but I was thrilled that she was so gracious. She was very enthusiastic about my being there and GW's desire to become a chartered chapter. And so....I leave you for now and will pick up tomorrow. The trip to STTI Headquarters sounds like fun.

I also attended a session entitled "Connecting Your School of Nursing to STTI Through a Chapter. Here I was able to listen to four Chapter leaders with very different experiences who had recently established Chapters. The Biennial Convention is being held at the Convention Center in Indianapolis. All of the hotels surrounding the Center are connected by an enclosed walkway (very convenient for this often windy city). "Check in" occurred yesterday continuing through today and there is Delegate verification which I also accomplished this morning. Among the 30 ...

I will make a point of getting to know her over the next day or so as we will need her support for our charter application. In the meantime, I have to review the 103 page Biennial Report. .....and then to bed. More tomorrow!
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States ckopac... I slowed down to a more sensible speed, which turned out to be 45mph. I followed behind a sensible truck driver, rather than the maniac drivers going 70+mph. The rain lashed down and I cursed my luck, what with Colorado, Kansas and Indiana I really thought that I had gotten the ****** end of the stick. I wasn't going to ask to swap though, not on any of those occasions. These things are sent to test us and you pass just by not giving in, so I ...
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States phraortes... met up wth Beth and Rachel (from Maine office of Safe Passage), who decided join us to have a mini reunion in Indiana. It was good to meet up with the both of them and reminisced for awhile, while waiting for my luggage. My luggage arrived around lunch time and so we started the drive up to Warsaw, Beth's home town, about 2 hours north. Indiana is an agricultural area, mainly corn and soya bean crops. The soya bean crops are used to produce bio-diesel.
