Yesterday, I mentioned how comfortable I was being in a familiar place. So comfortable in fact, that I woke up knowing a sad fact: I had to move on. It's hard to leave Bend, but at least I can take solace knowing I will be back soon! As I was getting ready this morning, thinking about where to go next, I decided to take a chance. My brother and Dad are on the mainland for the weekend, so off to Vegas I go! I texted everyone, got some lunch with Levi and ...

This is definitely cowboy country … mountain valleys and snow drift fences everywhere deer and antelope play (even saw herds on golf course greens, grazing amongst Canada Geese). As we passed the Continental Divide (7K elevation), Kirk commented if I lived in the early settler days, I’d be like Calamity Jane. LOL.

His understanding of the topography, wilderness and wildlife made this part of the trip much ...

... us back to Vancouver!

We arrived in Reno around 6pm and checked into the Sands. We were so ravenous so we quickly made our way to the Chinese buffet that was on special at the Casino. It wasn't the best but we gorged ourselves and then had a few extremely cheap ($1.50!) beers at the bar and watched OKC thrash the Lakers.

Reno was a pretty depressing place on a Monday night (and we now realise, probably all the time). Heaps ...
