Today we woke up and had our breakfast down at the steakhouse, after this we headed into the local town of graham, it has a population of 9000, it was a beautiful little country town with some magnificently manicured two storey weatherboard houses, very cute. We drove into the "shopping square" it is the largest one in Texas a square of shops really, we did not need anything however we stopped in a couple of western wear shops and spoke to the retailers, Sam enjoyed to ask them about ...
... hours we arrived at the wildcatter resort and checked in, then had some dinner in the steakhouse, the main meal was lovely! We will be going to the same restaurant tomorrow night for valentines day, we will see what tomorrow brings, a horse ride, hay ride, archery, clay shooting? Who knows? Lots of love Emma & Sam ...
100 miles down! Today was another day of ponying, it really hurts
after awhile as you sit twisted in the saddle without realising and
if the pony suddenly stops, your shoulder is wrenched from its
socket! The ride was a long one, Lisa started looking very pale at
one point so she swapped with James ...
... Nick panicked that he would be
left behind so chased after him and Ranger after sometime decided to
follow suit. Botherations! So we went pony hunting with buckets of
feed and head collars, after much running, swearing and shouting of
location points we rounded up the crew and Lisa and I sneaked another
bareback ride on Lizard and Ranger. Hopefully tomorrow will prove to
be less eventful!
... The boys were recovering
nicely and Dancer was almost completely sound again so we organised
to have them dropped off to us at our next rest day and by some
miracle, we found the voice recorder in the borrowed truck. So some
good news to end the day on, but now only have a driver for a week
and then have no driver for the following 6 weeks...hmmm, some
rethinking to do tomorrow.
