        ... I guess that makes him an American hero.

        The 60 tons of concrete and steel that make up "Big Sam" was begun in 1992 and completed in 1994. I will say, it's an imposing figure, especially driving down the highway at night as it was when I first saw it. Interestingly, I hadn't noticed it on my way out of town to Houston.
