We were up at 6:30a.m. and left the hotel before 8:00a.m. We made it to Toledo by 5:00. We were in our driveway before 6:00p.m. after a trip to the grocery store. All animals are alive, well, and happy to see us! Now the fun part of cleaning out the car:(
Yes, we would leave tomorrow and do it all over again if we could! There were a few meltdowns along the way, but the laughter and experiences far exceeded the not-so-fun times.
... of that one! We spotted a Dairy Queen on the way back to the hotel, so we got a small hot fudge sundae . . . just enough!!
I gassed up the vehicle and picked up some bottled water, then back to the room to relax . . . charge all the devices, and update this blog!! On the highway we get 27 miles to the gallon with the 2010 Flex . . . even with all of the slow going . . . we still managed 26 mpg! Gas factors out to about $4.70 a gallon!
Home, 7 days, 1100 miles later we made it home. The new RV performed quite well averaging around 9 mpg with the generator running almost all the way (about what I had expected given our previous experience with the same engine).

We drove back to the Henry Ford complex in Dearborn to visit Greenfield Village. This is a living history museum established by Henry Ford. It is an awesome place, with original buildings dating back to the 1600s, all carefully moved to or recreated at this location. Among many other very cool things, they have Henry Ford's childhood home, the Wright Brothers bike shop from Dayton, ...
... about 3 hours for a bus to take us into the centre of town and even then we ended up changing buses twice. We were very thankful that Detroit people are so kind and helpful that we were able to get to the border fairly easily, and were pointed in the right direction by some very lovely people. Kevin, the ever concerned host was texting me with information trying to make sure we were able to get to where we needed to be. ...
