I had made many a trips to Big Bear during the snowboarding season being that it is really the only place you can do a day trip from Vegas. However a few times we got the luxury of having a place to crash for the night. Only Teresa and I would somehow manage to be able to make a crash pad out of Oscar de la Hoyas Big Bear cabin and training compound. The two of us and usually 15 or so of the worlds best fighters under one roof..... we consider ourselves very lucky ladies :)
Big Bear Lake, California, United States lindsey.martin... County Health Department there would have been a called made.Hopefully, the McDs staff found them before the ants found the staff. We headed South on I-15 to Baker to see the World's Largest Thermometer and did a drive by of the Mad Greek Cafe. Which is done in the colors of Greece; blue and white. The statues were all anatomically correct...the second eww yuck of the day. We continue our dash across the Mojave Desert to Barstow, California to see the next ...
Rialto, California, United States mraztourism... details. Lorraine here....the presentation was sooooo good. Brian put this together from beginning to end and the audience was engaged and excited. I learned new ways to look at customer service and look forward to putting these into practice. I think he should use at least parts of this presentation for Grand Impressions. The interaction and activities with the audience was spot on...Way to go, Brian....This also reiterated to me how much Brian is respected in the ...

We seen a beautiful sunset as we drove through the Joshua Tree State Scenic Byway on US 93. There was very heavy winds around the Burro Creek Bridge area which blew the car around. We stopped by the Kingman Powerhouse Visitor Center to see what we see in the night. Looked at their after ...
Rialto, California, United States mraztourism... the winds hit, but Greg wasn't going to pull off 'til he saw that all the big rigs had done so. Our living room awning on the driver's side unrolled and rolled back up as we went over a little gullly bridge before we stopped. Don't know how long we're going to be sitting here, but I wish we had just pulled off the freeway to wait all day, if necessary. Not at all the type of excitement I would call fun. We've been stopped over an hour now - the ...
Rialto, California, United States pykesonthegoThe night before we departed was the Heaverlo/Sivas wedding. I was a groomsman and Steph accompanied me to the reception where there was, of course, an open bar. This should have been the first clue that the night would cause future delays/problems.
Orange County, California, United States mikeraboy... whole day of sun, although it was interrupted by brief stints running into the sea (which btw no self respecting Californian would ever do). Then that evening we head back to Quy's and were fed some more BBQ food and met a couple of cool girls and had fun chats with them. Day after we headed to San Fran baby! Early morning start but we drove up in a comfy car with a DVD system! On the way there and back I think we watched 6 movies! Arriving in San Fran was a cool moment, because ...
Los Angeles, California, United States helinachan... us about his varied travels and offered us his e-mail so that he might set us up with his girlfriend's family in New Zealand. We found this to be a good omen. The train ride was oh so long. We saw some incredible scenery, and even rode through a brush fire last night near chatham (I think) CA. Suffice to say, both Leila and myself were quite excited to arrive. We got into Union station around midnight ...
Los Angeles, California, United States giveitawayYou all wanted to hear what I thought of LA, well actually I loved it. I stayed with possibly the nicest family in the city, the warm Salvadoreans again at the rescue as my Bolivian bowels were exploding all over the place! Seen a bit of the city, which really rubbed in the wealth that exists in that country, everything was huge, expensive ...
The City of Angels, California, United States bonkersWhile still assigned to March AFB, we moved twice within a 1 year period after moving back to the States. Sunnymead is a small suburb of Moreno Valley, CA that doesn't even qualify for a map point of its own it is so small, and Rialto is where we ended up at the end. Not much to say about either of these places - they were houses to live in, I went to school, life went on. :)
