... home and at school, makes us believe that financial and societal stability should reign the world. Money and status become the bottom line. We start believing that only a few have the potential to live out their childhood dreams and that the rest of us should be satisfied with a menial life.

We deceive ourselves into believing that those dreams are childish and irrational and that life is good even without fulfilling these dreams. Riverside, California, United States mark820I had made many a trips to Big Bear during the snowboarding season being that it is really the only place you can do a day trip from Vegas. However a few times we got the luxury of having a place to crash for the night. Only Teresa and I would somehow manage to be able to make a crash pad out of Oscar de la Hoyas Big Bear cabin and training compound. The two of us and usually 15 or so of the worlds best fighters under one roof..... we consider ourselves very lucky ladies :)
Big Bear Lake, California, United States lindsey.martin... even!!! woo hoo. and then we took a walk around the shops at caesar's palace -i got to see all kinds of high end stores such as dior, louis vuitton, cartier, and fendi. crazy. and then the time came to take brandon to the airport to fly back to pittsburgh. that was a sad moment in our journey and for the rest of the day we felt like we were missing something. he arrived back safely and will pick up stormy ...
Redlands, California, United States joeandkateThere's been a bit of a change in our plans...we originally were planning to be on the road today, heading through Texas and exploring more of our new home state on the way to Florida... BUT, the best laid plans oft go awry - and we're nothing, if not flexible! I'm writing this from a different rv park - Fisherman's Retreat - still officially in Redlands, but about 10 miles up a canyon road from where we were. We've moved here because the park we ...

Redlands, California, United States pykesonthego... another gourmet dinner with friends - this time at my former boss' home. We always enjoy spending time with Bernie and Tim, and they surprised us by having another one my former co-workers, Dan, and his wife, Barbara there. What a fun night - again, great food, lots of wonderful wine (are we seeing a pattern here?) and lots of laughs!
Redlands, California, United States pykesonthego... the United States go to summer camps, family camps, and youth camps all the time. But for these 200 Liberian kids, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Many of them have had childhoods that I can't imagine. But for six days, they will get the chance to be entertained, catered to, and even spoiled a little. In addition to the Orphan Youth Conference, I get to be part of a huge ...
Redlands, California, United States len_20... a smooth ride, and an onboard service....heaven compared to those chicken buses! We made the most of the freebies they offered us onboard, like the tramps that we are now! Jon even asked if we could be bumped up to first class as there was a few spare seats, shockingly they turned us down....he even asked then for some spare first class food if any was left over! Got some great views of Dallas downtown all lit up - about as much as we were to see of this city. ooked out for JR and ...
