    ... is another Corp of Engineer parks on a beautiful lake. Fort Gibson Lake is in eastern Oklahoma about 180 miles from Oklahoma City. It is a large lake and there is ************e here. Thank goodness the kids are still in school! This park has nice big sites and is divided up into two campgrounds. We are out on the peninsula in the smaller campground. We like seclusion. There are no sewers here but we have water and electric so we are good.

    Went to sleep at 4am, waking at 8.30 still wearing the grin from last night. Andy scooted over to the lobby for bowls and coffee provisions. We enjoyed our own breakfast of Reece's puffs and fruit loops. Andy bought back a waffle for himself. After packing up we left at 10.30am via Waynesville. Got a little distracted at Buckhorn and must of missed our turn off following Route 66, we travelled thru Mark twain national forest and went over the interstate onto route ...

    ... in chili on on second one. So far the experiment has been a success. Food has cooked without a hitch and clean up has been easy too. The only drawback is the food smells so good cooking, while we are driving down the road that we get really hungry.

    ... and truck drivers used the road so maybe everyone just ignores those signs? Who knows. There are a lot of difffences in the driving from NZ to USA. One most notceable one is that there doesnt seem to be a requitement for motorcyclists to wear helmets. Some do, but unless it is a state by state law it seems to be choice. It is strange but quiet cool to see groups of bikies along the roads, long hair flowing in the wind. It must be warm ...
