... Stampede for the rodeo. It was an excellent two hours - starting with a opening ceremony with the National Anthem. Then we seen bare back riding, calf roping, barrel racing, saddle back riding, and finishing up with bull riding. We got a lot of pictures. Also, we have a great picture of sunset in the mountains. Very pretty.
We got back to the campground about 11:00pm. It was a good day in Cody.

We took the day to travel from Rapid City, South Dakota to Cody, Wyoming. We traveled through the Bighorn Mountains. Also we went through the town of Emblem - population 10.
Tomorrow we will spend the day in Cody. We're going to the rodeo!!

... Cody. Our first stop was at Walmart to get binoculars, shampoo and some food items for our stay in Yellowstone National Park. While there, Dad got a call from his father and found that his cousin was attempting to reach him.

anything. They're all very good at what they do and the youngest was
a little 8 year old in the under 12's division, very cute!

... Our first stop in Wyoming was the Vore Buffalo Jump. This is a sink hole that the Native Americans used to trap buffalo. They are currently doing extensive excavating of the area. We stopped here in 2008 and since then the area has been commercialize complete with gift shop and money collectors. We were disappointed to see the changes.
