Made it the Badlands National Park late this afternoon yet due to the new Mountain time zone, we gained one hour. Made for a long day but nice to be in such wonderful scenery. More on this later.

... Badlands wall. (Notch Trail) What a COOL hike with beautiful views of the setting sun and colorful rock formations. We had to climb a wooden ladder up the side of one of the big formations. The kids loved it and the views of the valley and Badlands rocks were amazing.

Had the KOA breakfast and chatted with the two ladies who were serving it. They’re clearly both older than I am and they and their husbands are itinerant workers for KOA for a free place to stay and a salary. They’re employed for 6 months for 2 to 4 days a week which gives them time to explore on days off. One’s been on the road for five years and the other leaves her home in California during the hot summer months to do this. ...
