Today we drove approximately 300 miles, from Medora, ND, to Wind Cave National Park, which is at the south end of Black Hills National Park, near Hot Springs, SD. One good thing about traveling along the same road as you did years ago is that you can visit places you missed the last time. In my case it was the Badlands National Park and I am so glad I got the chance. It was amazing, gullies, small mountains, table tops, weird shapes and the colours ! We stopped at Wall Drugs on our way to the hotel. It was after a long day drive through the Badlands. We didn't have a lot of time to spend there but it was very nice. Souvenirs were plenty but the ambiance of the old west was very visible. It's definitely a stop not to be missed.
