We drove most of the day yesterday. We visited the Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. The corn palace is a building decorated on the outside with corn cobs, rye, oat heads and sour dock. Each year a new theme is chosen to decorate the building. We checked out of the hotel and were on the road by 6:00 am. After driving for 4 hours, we stopped in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We hung out in Falls Park for about 45 minutes or so and then went to "downtown" Sioux Falls, where we found food. By noon we ...

Had the KOA breakfast and chatted with the two ladies who were serving it. They’re clearly both older than I am and they and their husbands are itinerant workers for KOA for a free place to stay and a salary. They’re employed for 6 months for 2 to 4 days a week which gives them time to explore on days off. One’s been on the road for five years and the other leaves her home in California during the hot summer months to do this. ...
