... Our room was in the back, so it was convenient for the dog and very quiet. The town is tiny (fewer than 800 residents) but has a large park which features the largest peach tree in Kansas in 2007, a supermarket, and at least one other restaurant. A beautiful sunset tonight! We had dinner at Penny's, the on-site diner. Both our meals were very good (Charlie had meatballs and I had ...

We arrived at Pike's Peak just as they were opening, and there was already a line of vehicles waiting to enter. I told Debbie to go on up at her own pace while I made frequent picture stops. The mountain was so enormous that we both found ourselves a bit intimidated. ...

Left our little part of Paradise at the Lake this morning.
    Drove through Kansas City.
Further down the track we drove past the Wizard of Oz Museum at Wamego, Kansas. In 1907 Frank Baum wrote the "Wizard of Oz". Later made into a movie starring Judy Garland, the story immortalized the little girl from Kansas, Dorothy Gale, who was transported by a Kansas tornado to the magical Land of Oz. Dorothy's house is in ...
