... great room rate for us in Elgin/Dundee IL. After checking in and browsing local eateries we set out to Dominick's Pizzeria for an authentic Chicago pizza experience. Our hearts were broken to discover a true Chicago deep dish or stuffed crust pizza would take an hour to bake. That was far too long for the famished family. We decided to go for a thick crust Margherita pizza instead. Although the wait was ...

As of last week I have been accepted to teach abroad in China for an entire year starting this February 2015 with CIEE (Council on International Education and Exchange)! I cannot wait to see what I can offer the other side of the world and vise versa :) I won't be updating my blog much before I leave, but will try to keep up to date once I start my adventure on the other side of the world. I will ideally being doing at least 2 entires a week...fingers crossed.

On a warm day like this, there were of course kids and adults gathered around and in the splash pad in the park. It has two huge towers with projected faces on them that spit water on the children. The gardens were filled with edible herbs and plants; thyme, tomatoes, nasturtium, sage, amaranth, sunflowers and more. It was fun to see ...
