Made it as far as Warrenton, Missouri on day 2. As you can see by the picture, Braddock has become a lapdog. Nice weather and mostly decent roads so far. Tried a short cut in Western Kentucky, though, where the two-lane highway had bumps and dips and a very narrow bridge over the Mississippi River. Probably won't do that one again. Nebraska ...
... streets around the zoo for free, but by the time we got there, all those spaces were taken. We saw butterflies, sea lions, lions, hippopotamuses, elephants, bears, white pelicans, tigers, zebras, bee eaters, kudus, Somalian wild asses, okapi, capybara, hornbill bird, stork, and lots more.
By now we needed gas, so we went a little out of our way to a Costco for ...
... of a lifetime...I'm so glad we did this. I hope we have a chance to do this again next year with the show. But for now, it's good to be winding down.
Anyway, onto our day...Dianna picked us up and drove us down the street to the elementary school that was anxiously awaiting a clown visit at 9am. Their gymnasium was packed to the brim and John barely had a voice afterwards, but the response was deafening (in a good way, thankfully)!
... up together at the Walmart parking lot in Warrenton and we were driven around to a few different daycares (the kids were sleepy, but cheerful, which is always fun...especially on a Monday morning) and a senior center. Unfortunately, the senior center was NOT hopping, so we hung out with a nice woman named Becky who was really excited about having a clown there. John made some balloon animals for the folks who were there and then we were on our way.
