I was thinking of the old men I'd met as a child in Mum's or Gail's old folks homes and how they'd sit in bed with theirs mouths open and no teeth, just drooling all over themselves. Day 283 - We went to this place just over into California, called "The Center of the Earth" - A History of the World in Granite! Wasn't sure what this would be all about, but off we went with two other couples. This is the most amazing outdoor museum I have ever seen. We met the man who is behind this museum and he is the one doing the etching into the granite ...

We are also joining a hiking group in the park. Once a month we will be hiking to destinations near Yuma. We haven’t done any hiking here but I have heard that there are quite a few interesting hikes in the surrounding mountains and desert so I am really looking forward to it.

... and very guarded! At one of the border control checkpoints we were interrogated, politely, about who we were, our jobs, why we were here, dates of things, but they let us through! The scenery then changes to mountains and the interstate goes through them, we went up to 4000', and then started our descent in to San Diego. ... power for the TV, Dish, heated mattress pad, and needs of old *****....

We've got some great photos of a Blue Heron that was on the pond feeding.... so photos of
one of the birds of pray fishing.... and some great sunset photos... We've got a beaver running around so I've been told, so tomorrow night I'll set up the game camera to see if we can catch him running down the paths... the game camera takes 3 photos ...
