... from early morning until evening. We got up on the 8th and drove through North Dakota. We stopped at the painted canyon in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. It was a beautiful spot. We continued on until we were just outside of Fargo, ND. Believe me you really do not need to see the past two days of driving. It was pretty in its own right, ...

Traveled today from Grand Portage, MN to Bemidji, MN. On the way, we missed Betty's Pies. The parking lot was packed full, no place for the truck and coach.

Bemidji is the home of Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe. We checked out the statue by Lake Bemidji while on our way to dinner. We will spend the overnight here and head to Detroit Lakes, MN tomorrow.

We woke to beautiful sunshine and a fairly calm lake, so were finally ready to try some fishing again! Tom & I, Seth & Maddie headed out to Pike Bay where we've always had our best luck.
Before we even left the big lake, Seth looked up and spotted not one, not two, not three, but FOUR bald eagles! We love our eagle sightings, but have never been blessed with so many at once. Then, as we entered the channel, we ...

Spending the holiday at the lake makes this Independence Day a little different than spending it at home. At home we usually hang out, maybe go swimming, relax, have a barbecue, and then go see some fireworks. Here at the lake, we go fishing, hang out, go swimming, relax, have a barbecue and then maybe some fireworks. (I did say it was a LITTLE different!) Tom and I went out this morning, as all of the kids wanted to sleep ...
