By this time a bit of frustration was creeping into my demeanor, and I decided to get back on the highway to find someone to ask for information. We drove 10 or so mile further into the outback where we were confronted by a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint. Now this was at least 60 or 70 ...
I'm so glad we've had this time together...go ahead and sing the song :-) After lots of visiting and fun, it's time to head home. We sure are going to miss those grand kids! Dan braved the elements to make some fine grilled steaks while Hilkka and Jo made a salad with cilantro (never had the combo before, but was awesome!), and asparagus, among other sides. Long conversations ensued, ranging from the US to China to Jo and her family's travels abroad. We had a great time all while Las Cruces enjoyed a good long rain.
