... was definitely the place to be for pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs and fruit...all on the same plate and covered with maple syrup. An acquired taste. Stephen left us at this point for the Independence Day celebrations in San Francisco with friends.  Next stop Healdsburg Farmers Markets where we caught up with Uncle Sam, who just so happened to be fundraising for the firework display.  Onto to the town square which was gearing up for the childrens parade and the duck ...

The next day, I drove to Bodega and Bodega Bay which was one of the places I ...

The first spot on the trail was the Gustafson Winery which sits high up on a hill overlooking Lake Sonoma. The amazing views from the picnic area were well matched by the wines that they make. The experience was also improved by having the wine maker doing the tastings and telling us all about how he comes to make all the great wines. Of course I ad no idea ...

        Rolling on the River

... The northern California coast is just starkly beautiful, even in the dead of winter. I looked at the cliffs and rocks for a while then went to an overpriced, but charming, little hippie café where I sat outside and stared at the harbor for a bit. Seals and all… Sweet.

The drive itself is very relaxing. Rolling hills, meadows, cows, and farm buildings in various states of disrepair, the river peeking through the trees here and there, and ...
