Sorry it took so long to get this last entry uploaded, but as soon as I got home, my time was not my own anymore;-)
I landed on runway 29 at my home field, Merritt Island (KCOI) at 11:23 AM on Tues the 25th after an easy flight from my brother's strip in N Florida. I was greeted by my buddy Charlie on his bicycle and Sandra at the hangar.
It felt good to be home, but I really got used to not sweating my way through the day!

I caught a great ride from Iowa to Rough River State Park (2I3) in Kentucky. Tailwinds were averaging 15 to 25 knots at 5500 ft which knocked a half hour off my enroute time. Nice!
The state park airstrip is a 3200 ft paved runway surrounded by acres of smooth grass. So, guess what?, darned if I couldn't quite get it down on the paved part. Oh Well! I love grass!

Alaska here we come------ The plan is to fly two Light airplanes from Florida to Alaska and back, - and have some fun along the way! CarolAnn will be flying her Rans S-7 and Wes will flying his Just Highlander. Two yellow experimental airplanes, both with Rotax 912, 100HP engines. The rough schedule will have us leaving Florida in June, making our way across the country to S. ... to the deck (some of our group disappeared to their rooms). It was exhilarating! The wind was blowing so hard, you could barely stand straight. We raced around the track and stood up on the balcony (dangerously) and absorbed the fresh ocean air... until we got kicked off... he was being a crazy man and trying to kill himself... not really but it would have been really bad if he fell.
Afterwards we went back to their room to play cards ...
