Pier 39 is a tourist and local favourite. Shops, restaurants and the best ice cream in town. After a well deserved two hour lunch break by the water (with views to the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz) we all headed back on the tram to our hotel with enough time to catch the sun set over the beach and frolic in the dusk painted sand. It was a nice experience and the cathedral is beautiful with lots of stained glass, and a labyrinth copied from the one in Chartres. It took about 10 minutes to follow all the curves and turns, it felt quite meditative.

... Bragg. Fort Bragg is a **** hole. Glass beach it seems doesn’t exist properly anymore as people have taken the glass so after much wandering around a nuclear power plant of a beach we found some **** hole which had bits of shaped glass on it but mainly it was filled with *****.

We picked up a sandwich from a deli inside a shop and then had to drive 28 miles back through the winding roads, I sensibly decided – despite being hungry – ...
