    ... The dogs were picked up at 8:00AM and went on their merry way. We left to pick up two of Judy's friends before heading to the pick-up point at a local hotel.     Beautiful morning with no humidity and a temperature of 74 degrees when we pulled out of the campground in Granite City. Almost immediately we crossed the Mississippi River and stopped for gas about a half hour later. Gas was only $3.18/gallon and we did find out that our credit card allows us to charge only a certain amount at a time. So far, we have not filled the tank totally but get close.

    ... I am waiting for them to make it well-done for me. Well! THAT was worth the wait! It was delicious. Well done and not even a little bit of fat. ( I hate meat fat!). The creamed spinach and fresh green beans were excellent too. The only big surprise was realizing the woman a couple tables over has lit up a cigarette!! Funny, it wasn't THAT long ago in Huntsville.     Anyway, we started the day with a tour of the Missouri State Capitol, offered free of charge through the MO state park system. The grounds featured an overlook of the Missouri River and several fountains. Favorite fountain included a mythical half-man wrestling a snake creature. ...
