... very kindly drove us all to the Lodge to check-in, back to the apron to pick up our gear and then to the cabin we had arranged to share with Vernon and Martin (scheduled to arrive on Friday). We left Malone State Park, regretfully since it was ideal, but headed for Mammoth Cave National Park, even though we had to backtrack East. Man, the Kentucky roads are stinkin' NARROW, no shoulder, and are often slopped the wrong way, so it scares the heck out of you on occasion. Passing a truck or wide vehicle is a nail biter.
