We came back to Cole Camp and found Holy Cross Lutheran Church which was established in 1842, the same year that the Henry Schroeder Family arrived here. We also found out that he was a teacher for the church from 1842 until 1861 when died from wounds from the civil war battle that occurred in Cole Camp. The church is still in operation. Drove to Warsaw. Mo and stayed at Harry S Truman State Park. Very nice and stayed here for $15/night. Drove around the area and then went to Camp Cole, Mo where Les's ancestors settled after coming here from Germany. Will go again tomorrow to visit see if we can find out more information on Hienrich ...

We'll we made it to Branson. We decided to go see the Titanic museum, it was great, we walked around for about 2 1/2 hours, touched an iceberg and felt the water at the temperature it was when it sank, brr! We will be here until Sunday morning so tomorrow we will take in a show, possibly the Sons of the pioneers which dad would like. I'll write again ...

... br> Sunday, Oct. 12....still here at Truman State Park. we have had the nicest time and fabulous weather. it's early fall here, little change in the trees but days in the 70s and nights in the 40s - 50s. Huge, spacious park. Campsites are very spacious.

Left Amoret after being awakened by a school kid waiting for the bus and running around the church wondering what we were. We awoke with about an inch of water in the tent and the inside just dripping. High humidity and dew in these here parts. Scott awoke and exited the tent during the night to discover a mist that seems to hover about 15 feet off the ground under the first clear skies in a week or more. Very weird looking.
