We headed towards Fairfield on the highway that was four lanes in each direction!! We arrived in Fairfield in darkness and had some difficulty finding the rv park we had booked online. After ringing for directions we headed off into darkness and started to feel certain we were driving in the wrong way till Liam spotted the sign. ... food, but struck out on 2 restaurants that were closed on Sunday (Crawfish Hole 32 in Minden, LA and the Cajun Pot in Ruston, LA]. Ended up finding Ponchatoulas in Ruston which was pretty tasty. Went on down the road to Monroe, LA to stay in a Hampton Inn. We had stopped at a newer Hampton Inn in West Monroe, but it was about $25 cheaper to go on to the older Hampton Inn and it was very clean and nice.
